THE city of Laixi in Qingdao has become the country’s first Chinese Peanut Industrial Base. Its peanut processing industry represents the country’s highest level.

    The city will next focus on the development and research of peanut snacks and health products to promote the industry. The total number of Laixi’s peanut processing companies will reach 300 with production volume of 7.6 billion yuan in 2015.(Wang Yuanyuan, Liu Kunfeng, Lu Wenbo)
