THE Chinese team has clinched three gold medals, two silver medals and four bronze medals at the Judo Grand Prix Qingdao 2011, which was held at Guoxin Gymnasium. The contestant from Qingdao, Kang Jie, won a bronze medal in the women’s 78-kilogram category. A total of 409 athletes from 61 countries and regions, including seven Olympic champions, participated in the competition. The competition is an important part of the race to accumulate points ahead of the London Olympics. The Chinese athlete, Xu Lili, and an athlete from the Republic of Belarus were awarded best female and male athlete respectively. (Li Hao, Liu Changzhou) |
