A NATIONAL laboratory for advanced tire equipment and key materials opened in Qingdao recently.

The laboratory was jointly built by Qingdao University of Technology, Mensnac and Sailun Tyre Co. Ltd., aiming at improving the tire equipment technology.

The laboratory will build an analysis platform in the industry for new material technology, equipment manufacturing technology, recycling technology, energy saving technology and information technology, said Ma Lianxiang, president of the university.

“We plan to make significant achievements in three years,” said Ma. The laboratory plans to apply for 25 to 30 patents and seven to 10 intellectual copyrights and train 30 high-end professionals in the area.
