THE production scale of the city’s equipment manufacturing industry will be doubled in 2015 and the core areas will include machinery equipment, automobiles, rail transportation, ships and ocean engineering and navigation, according to a plan on the equipment manufacturing industry released recently.

    Preferential policies will be given to support a batch of core companies in the industry.

    According to the plan, the production volume of the equipment manufacturing industry will reach 800 billion yuan in 2015, doubling the figure of 2010. There will be 10 companies with production volume of more than 10 billion yuan and 50 companies with production volume of 1 billion yuan.

    High-end equipment manufacturing featuring high-speed trains, new energy vehicles, new energy power equipment, ocean engineering equipment and precision CDN machine tools will reach significant achievements with production volume of 200 billion yuan in 2015.

    Ocean engineering, rail transportation, navigation transportation, intellectual manufacturing equipment, new energy power equipment and new energy car industrial bases will be built in 2015.

    The big and medium-sized companies will invest more money in technological innovation, developing new technology to improve the industry.

    More advanced technology and information technology will be introduced to the companies.
