Companies find opportunities with low-carbon technology
    2012-01-03  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

ALTHOUGH China’s consumable electronic goods have suffered during the global recession, Qingdao Gemi Electronic Co. Ltd. has won its biggest ever order from the European market in the water boiler industry.

Recently, the first batch of 30,000 water boilers was shipped to Europe successfully.

The success was mainly due to the company’s energy-saving strategy, said Zhao Jianwei, sales director of the company.

European countries have strict requirements for energy saving and many companies failed because of this. However, Gemi has worked hard in the area and developed advanced technology to solve the problem, said Zhao.

Due to the advanced technology, Gemi served all the competition venues at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and other international sports events.

The company invested 100 million yuan to build a new production base and the base has been in operation since June. It is the world’s biggest production base for water boilers and can produce 300,000 water boilers a year.

“We want to become the leading company in the industry through production expansion and technology innovation,” Zhao said.
