QINGDAO is not a popular place to travel in winter, but the cheapness of plane tickets and hotel rooms, as well as the shortage of tourists, makes the city more attractive to those who want a quiet winter holiday. Meanwhile, the city has made efforts to make Qingdao a good tourism destination this winter.

    The Jinshan ski resort has become a popular spot this winter. Located on Yuhuang Mountain in Jinkou ancient township, the 200-million-yuan ski resort can accommodate 1,500 travelers. Snow motorcycle and cable cars are all installed in the field.

    More than 7 billion yuan was invested in the city’s key tourism projects last year, including a folk museum in Sifang District, a Sheraton hotel and a spa resort. Other holiday resort projects will also be opened soon. These projects will help promote the city’s winter tourism.

    There are also a series of celebrations. A Shandong New Year-Spring Festival celebration has already started.

    From the New Year to the Spring Festival, promotion activities are being given at the city’s hotels and restaurants for companies to hold their annual dinners. Meanwhile, promotions will be given at the tourist attractions for travelers. Large theme carnivals will be held on New Year’s Eve, Spring Festival Eve and Lantern Festival.

    Meanwhile, the city also launched a series of promotions to visitors from Bejing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Wuhan and the Pearl River Delta with cheap prices for tickets, hotels, restaurants and entertainment.
