MORE than 40 residents participated in a sailing competition with friends from Denmark and Australia during the New Year holiday.

    “It is heartening to see sailors compete in such cold weather,” said a resident who gave his name Chang Jianguo.

    It was the first time the city has hosted such an event at this time of year. It is aimed at teaching residents sailing skills and promoting winter sailing knowledge in the city, said Qu Chun from the sailing school.
