‘Merlin,’ magic, mystery
    2012-01-11  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Many parents think that kids watching TV is a waste of time and energy. Yet, in moderation, I find I learn a lot from it, especially English. As crazy as it seems, “Merlin,” one of the TV series I strongly recommend, is infused with a mysterious atmosphere and fascinating theories about magic that casts a spell.

Long ago, being one of the biggest fans of Harry Potter, I was ecstatic about the fictional adventures portrayed in both the books and films. And now, I find it amusing that “Merlin” seems to be a revised extension of Harry Potter, which will wow those with a feverish mind about magic.

Speaking of magic, many people simply regard it as “tall tales.” However, magic, in my mind, is a way of creative thinking or recreational therapy after long periods of study and repeated reviews.

So without missing out on the fun of learning English, the chance to relax while watching “Merlin” is surely well-deserved in our vacation, isn’t it?
