Sculpture campus opens
    2012-01-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE sculpture school of the Chinese National Academy of Arts has established a campus in Qingdao in cooperation with the city government.

The opening of the campus reflects the city’s ambition to integrate cultural and art resources at home and abroad, gather professionals and teams in the cultural and art fields, and play host to more influential international art exchange activities.

Vice cultural minister, Wang Wenzhang, said at Thursday’s opening ceremony that the establishment of the campus reflects the city’s emphasis on upgrading urban culture.

The campus is located at the city’s coastal sculpture park in the east, which has a planned area of eight hectares, including more than 3,800 square meters of indoor areas.

Outstanding sculptures are exhibited in the park. They are mainly the works of Chinese sculptors in the 20th century.(Li Hao, Xu Bing, Zhang Xudong)
