SMEs excel in environmental protection
    2012-01-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AMONG the city’s small and medium enterprisers (SME), companies in equipment, packaging and printing industries grew rapidly in the first 10 months of last year. Sales revenue and profit in the packaging and printing industries increased by 34.7 percent and 53.2 percent. A batch of SMEs found their growth points in the environmental protection area.

    Green printing

“The packaging and printing industry has increasingly high requirements in environmental protection and the demand is growing fast. Our company’s sales revenue increased by 70 million yuan last year over 2010,” said Yu Jun, general manager of Qingdao Dehong Color Package Co. Ltd.

The company’s main products include paper boxes, which are mainly used in the food industry and export companies. The company is famous for its ecological manufacturing mode. Pollution during the whole process is the lowest in the company and many of the raw materials are recycled. It also introduced a series of German machines worth 15 million yuan to improve its quality. “Green packaging and printing is the industry’s future and will bring us high added value,” said Yu.

    Unique material

Qingdao Creek Ecological Material Co. Ltd. finds their ecological growth in architectural material area.

The company developed a new type of thermal baffle in 2010, which can save more than 65 percent of the energy. This product brought an increase in the company’s sales revenue by 278 percent in the first 10 months last year.

“The company now has five self-developed products and one piece of self-developed equipment. There are also several other energy-saving materials for high-end industries. Among these, their STP material used in architecture is the only one of the kind in China,” said Li Zhuangxian, vice general manager of the company.

Production volume of its STP thermal baffle is expected to reach 50 million square meters this year, making revenue of more than 5 billion yuan.(Wang Yuanyuan, Wang Yu)
