QINGDAO will construct 28,160 government-subsidized apartments this year.

The construction is expected to further alleviate housing pressure on middle- and low-income families in the city.

In addition, housing subsidies will be given to another 111 low-income families.

The city government will strive to provide more affordable housing by purchasing commercial housing and reconstructing existing apartments.

The city government will seek to buy 3,000 small commercial apartments for lease to needy families.
