Qingdao safest city in China
    2012-01-31  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

QINGDAO’S public security index is the highest in China, according to recent figures from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Officials began efforts last year to build a safe, stable and harmonious city, creating a good environment for the city’s economic and social development.

The city’s procuratorial, judicial and public security departments have launched a risk evaluation and prevention system to help solve problems such as illegal dismantling, labor disputes, medical disputes and traffic accidents. Professional coordinators were introduced to assist residents struggling with such challenges.

New management modes also were introduced to the city’s social management. For example, a project to decrease juvenile crimes was launched in Pingdu. Jiaozhou has introduced a coordination system to reduce disputes after traffic accidents.

City officials also have published a guide to building a clean law enforcement department, to increase the police department’s efficiency and improve its services. (Wang Yuanyuan, Dai Qian)
