Metro work kicks off
    2012-02-14  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

LAST year saw the start of phase one of the city’s Metro construction, Metro Line 3.

There will be 22 stations on Metro Line 3. Around 12,000 meters of tunnels has been dug.

In addition, bidding for the trains and signal systems on the line has started. CSR Qingdao Sifang Co. Ltd. will provide 24 trains. All the trains will be produced in Qingdao and are expected to be completed in the first half of 2013.

While pushing ahead with the construction, the city will strive to start Metro Line 2 this year and seek approval for the planning of phase two of its Metro construction.
