Seven industries help city grow

    THE production volume of the city’s seven core industries reached more than 1 trillion yuan last year. An advanced manufacturing system for emerging industries will also be built.

New industries will continue to be promoted this year. Cloud computing, Internet of Things and the integration of three networks will be the focal points of the information technology industry, while projects in high-end advanced equipment industry will also be promoted. New material industries will promote projects for batteries, rubber and heat insulators, while construction of projects in new energy and biological medicine will also be sped up. There are more than 100 key projects for this year, including 20 big projects with large investment.

In traditional industries, a batch of high-quality new products will be launched this year to expand their market shares.

Development of the leading industries, such as home appliances, petrochemicals, automobile manufacturing and ship making, will also be sped up this year. These leading industries will have a production volume of 1.255 trillion yuan this year.

Production volume of the city’s seven core industries reached 1.0885 trillion yuan last year, increasing by 1 percent over 2010. Among these, production volume of home appliances and electronics, petrochemical , automobile manufacturing, textile, food and drink, mechanism and ship making were 152.7 billion yuan, 203.9 billion yuan, 100.6 billion yuan, 139.3 billion yuan, 150.3 billion yuan, 292.2 billion yuan and 49.35 billion yuan respectively.
