Subsidies for returned overseas students to start business
    2012-02-21  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

CHINESE who return from studying abroad to set up their own businesses can receive subsidies of as much as 500,000 yuan from the city in a new program.

Recipients of the subsidy must hold a master’s or doctoral degree. The company should have products with patents and sufficient market potential. The company should have registered in the past three years and the registered capital must be at least 500,000 yuan, with the returned students having at least 50 percent of the shares.

The company must have acquired certification from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security to be a “key project by returned overseas students.” Those eligible will be given 200,000 yuan or 500,000 yuan.
