How to dress this spring
    2012-02-24  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    Anna Zhao

SPRING has arrived but you may be reluctant to stop wearing your winter clothes because the weather has been unpredictable. Do you want to look fashionable yet stay warm? Add a few tweaks to what you are wearing and you can do just that.

There are ways to look attractive in a thick sweater. If your sweater has an elegant design it can still complement a slender body. If you dare, you can also add a bowtie for a little extra feminine charm.

Wearing a short tweed coat over a white blouse goes well with a fluffy skirt. Mid-length woolly coats, leather jackets and fur coats all suit a minimalist design. Ankle boots and buskin will never go out of fashion because they complement legs.

Pencil leggings and black pantihose can easily be paired with dresses or skirts.

In spring, girls are expected to look their most feminine with flowing dresses bringing out hourglass figures. Floral designs and lace are the most romantic options. But remember, simplicity is key.

Dresses are an important form of expression for women. A one-piece white dress can resemble a lotus rising from water. A belt can make it look even more elegant. You can cut the sleeves to a length that suits you.

Or if you want to go for a more playful look, try a belted Maxi dress and draped skirt in bright hues. This looks extra feminine under a leather jacket.

If you want to be eye-catching in spring, you need to wear bright colors. Aquamarine looks energetic and tangerine is the hue of brisk warmness.

If you are not trying to be the center of attention, sweet sorbet shades and pastel hues give off a low-key, ladylike vibe. Pastels will also be popular, with a lot of baby pink, blue and yellow of different fabrics.

Whereas women have little black dresses, men have navy-blue blazers. A fitted single-breasted, two-button blazer with a notched lapel has the power to transform an otherwise ho-hum office-shirt-and-tie combo into something dapper.

This spring, follow one basic rule: choose from the same color family.
