A WORKER from Qingdao Jifa Group won first prize in a national weft-knitting skill competition among textile industry workers.

    The competition involved 84 weft knitters from 12 provinces.

    Born in the countryside, 25-year-old Yang Jingshuang started working for Qingdao Jifa Group in August 2004 and, after years of hard practice, is able to operate nine rib machines by himself.

    Yang spends his spare time studying enterprise management and working toward a bachelor’s degree. (Li Hao, Liu Lina)
