Service platform set up for SMEs
    2012-03-06  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

QINGDAO has established a foreign trade supply chain service platform for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The platform will provide services involving international trade, export credit insurance, financial guarantees, foreign buyers’ information, public logistics and displays. All services will support SMEs that are expanding their sales channels at home and abroad.

The platform is a cooperative effort of the city’s commerce and tax bureaus, the Qingdao branch of the Export-Import Bank of China, the Shandong branch of China Export & Credit Insurance Corp. and Qingdao Hiking Group.

Qingdao has been encouraging the development of trade service institutions as rising demand overflows the government’s ability to effectively boost development of SMEs.

The platform is expected to benefit between 3,000 and 5,000 SMEs within three years.
