Yangge festival to be held in May

THE 3rd China Yangge Festival will be held in Jiaozhou in May.

The one-month festival will feature a spectacular performance, an exhibition of Chinese intangible cultural heritage, yangge dance parties and a yangge dance competition for the elderly.

Among these, the performance will be held May 25 at Sanlihe Park. Singer Tan Jing will be invited to sing the theme song and several leading yangge teams will be on stage. Famous folk artists will also be invited to display their traditional techniques and more than 30 yangge teams will come for the competition.

Meanwhile, an exhibition of yangge photographs, a calligraphy exhibition, a food exhibition and an award ceremony will be held during the festival.
