Dear readers, I handed in my senior thesis and have completed all the requirements needed to graduate except for finishing my last two courses this semester. There are roughly four or so weeks of class left before I take my final examination as an undergraduate student. I have recently been spending time with family and friends at weekends and working on a video project during weekdays. Once again, time has slipped by stealthily and gracefully. In a survey conducted by the university administration, a peculiar question asked: “If you could turn back time, is there anything you would do differently here at Princeton?” My answer was a simple and definitive “No. No, thank you.” And my answer is consistent for all questions like that: I would not go back in time to change anything, for fear that a small alteration will have enormous repercussions and knowing that things have always worked out for the best. Thus, four years has gone and I am near the end of my academic career. There has been laughter, stress and enlightenment. Not entirely coincidentally, I am also about to finish writing for Shenzhen Daily. There has been truth and sincerity and, of course, you. My dear readers, thank you for your support in the last few years and the many before that. Fortunately, this column will continue and a special writer will take over for me in two weeks. I hope you enjoy her story as much as you have mine. Of course, I will be back for the occasional visit to inform you of my pursuits and life. Finally, best of luck in all your endeavors and dreams. Sincerely, Laiyin |
