A CONCERT was held in Laoshan District on the night of April 28 to mark the 100-day countdown to the annual Qingdao International Beer Festival.

    The festival is scheduled to be held between Aug. 11 and 26 in the beer city on Shiji Square.

    The beer city covers an area of 200,000 square meters, 20,000 square meters larger than Qingdao International Beer City, which is under renovation.

    Visitors will be able to taste various beers and appreciate foreign cultures, such as Munich beer culture, during the festival.

    A beer tasting area has started operation in the beer city, which will also stage cultural performances. The tasting area will be open until Oct. 7.

    The mascot of the festival, a cartoon dragon named Longlong, was also unveiled at the 100-day countdown celebration.

    The theme of the festival will be “Qingdao cheers with the world.”(Li Hao, Wang Liyan)
