THE CSI Sifang Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co. Ltd. and Hong Kong MTR Corporation Ltd. has signed deals worth 1.36 billion yuan.

It is the first time for mainland high-speed trains to be sold to Hong Kong. Four domestic and international companies attended a public bidding held by the Hong Kong MTR and Sifang won the bidding with its advanced and safe products.

Trains sold to Hong Kong will be specially made on the basis of CRH380A high-speed train. It will be more safe, reliable, economical and comfortable. The speed of the train will reach 359 kilometers per hour.

The trains are for the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed train. The project is expected to be in operation in 2015.
