Reading Month launched
    2012-05-08  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE city’s annual Reading Month was launched April 28.

One of the city’s key cultural events, Reading Month has been a popular activity since 2005.

The theme of this year’s Reading Month is “Love Reading, Love Life and Love Qingdao.” Activities feature reading selections, writing contests, reading collections and reading activities in communities, villages, schools, companies, and government organs.

Book fairs are also being held, offering all kinds of discounted books.

An initial proposal was read at the opening ceremony of the Reading Month. The proposal encourages residents to pick up their favorite books and read them for one hour every day, helping reading become an important part of their lives.
