After-school classes debated
    2012-05-23  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

深圳市新安中学高三(11)班 黄佳丽 指导老师 曹东英 汤颖

Last week, we had a heated discussion about whether it was necessary to take training courses. Two different views emerged.

Some students believe studying with teachers in the training center is an effective way to improve academic scores. Going to a training class not only helps them review what they have learned in school, but also enables them to learn more, beyond their textbooks. Moreover, they can solve difficult problems with the help of teachers in the training center and they have a chance to interact with students from other schools.

However, other students are against taking additional classes after school. They think training courses fail to expand their knowledge and they'd rather cultivate their own learning skills. They also feel that going to training classes takes up students' valuable spare time, when they should be resting or relaxing.

In my point of view, whether to go to a training class depends on the student. If a student can properly manage school hours, then that student shouldn't need extra lessons and can instead do something meaningful or have a good rest on weekends.
