Great Wall to be restored
    2012-05-29  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE restoration project of the world’s oldest Great Wall, which was built more than 2,400 years ago by the state of Qi during the Spring and Autumn Period (722-481 B.C.), will first start on the section in Jiaonan.

The fortification in Jiaonan is more than 50 kilometers long, which now covers six subdistricts and more than 1,500 hilltops.

The 500-kilometer-long Great Wall, which is known as Qi Great Wall, covers 18 cities, counties and districts.

The Jiaonan section is one of the 10 sections on the Qi Great Wall that will be restored.(Li Hao)
