Hisense collects television applications
    2012-06-05  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

HISENSE Group has launched a collection activity, investing 10 million yuan in an application developer for Hisense intellectual television.

The activity is one of the country’s most influential business financing qualification competitions. The competition will be held in Beijing and Shenzhen and the final will be held in November this year. Several leading companies and venture capital firms will also give out funds of 100 million yuan and investment of 1 billion yuan to the winners.

“So far, there have been no successful cases for transferring mobile application into television. A television is much bigger with a better screen, which is the basis for television application development,” said Wang Zhihao, vice president of the group. Demands for intellectual television have been increased successfully over recent years, which means that the video application and added-value service for intellectual television are exciting markets.

The competition encourages Android mobile application developers to shift their focus to television applications. It will also become a platform to recruit high-end software development professionals.

Hisense has been the No.1 television seller on the domestic market for nine years in a row, but it has to work even harder to compete with international giants such as Lenovo, Google and Apple. Besides awards, Hisense will also give out shares to the developers for motivation.

So far, 100 applicants have registered for the competition.
