Huangchuan Three Gorges is about 2.5 kilometers away from Lianzhou.
Huangchuan is the ancient name of the Lianjiang River. The river rises in Hongyan Mountain in Xingzi Town and flows through Lianzhou, Yangshan and Yingde.
The Huangchuan Three Gorges, including Longquan Gorge, Lengjia Gorge and Yangtiao Gorge, are about 20 kilometers from downtown Lianzhou.
The three gorges are famous for their waterfalls. Traveling along the river in a boat, you will be stunned by their beauty, as well as the mountains and forests that surround you.
Other must-go spots include Maniang Gorge, the ancient paths left by boat tracker, Lengjia Ancient Gorge and an ancient stage for opera performances.
Passing the 11 ship locks along the Lianjiang River is also an unforgettable experience.
Many famous ancient poems and essays have been written about the Huangchuan Three Gorges. The area is also famous for its calligraphy.
On the way to Lianzhou, it is better to stop in Qingyuan City to enjoy a big portion of Qingyuan chicken.
Transportation: Drive to Lianzhou through Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway, Guangzhou-Qingyuan Expressway and Qingyuan-Lianzhou Expressway. The whole journey, which is about 360 kilometers long, takes more than four hours. Drive to Nankeda port from Lianzhou and take a boat to travel along the gorges.
Yuxi Three Caves, Yangchun
Yuxi Three Caves is located about 70 kilometers away from Yangchun City. The total length of the underground river in the caves is about 3 kilometers and the water is as clear as glass.
The three caves are among the most popular scenic spots in Lingxiao Rock National Geological Park. Traveling inside the caves in a small boat is like enjoying a stunning traditional Chinese landscape painting.
Jinzhan Composite Spring, Sanbian Rock and Huangguan Rock are the most famous spots in the caves. In the first cave, visitors can take pictures in a crown with the help of the amazing Huangguan Rock, while the Sanbian Rock in the second cave offers a variety of good views. The third cave is about 500 meters long and visitors can climb up the rocks to enjoy the internal view.
There is a beautiful legend about three fairies conquering a dragon in this spot. There are also many interesting myths about the caves, the mountains and the Mojiang River, so it is better to hire a tour guide to learn more about the spot and Chinese culture.
Ticket for a tour of the Yuxi Three Caves is 55 yuan.
Transportation: Drive to the Lingxiao Rock National Geological Park from Shenzhen via Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway, Foshan-Kaiyang Expressway, Kaiyang-Yangjiang Expressway, Yangjiang-Yangchun Expressway and Provincial Highway 113. The whole journey is about four hours and the Yuxi Three Caves is about 10 minutes’ drive from the Lingxiao Rock.
