Project Graduation
    2012-06-27  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Dear readers,

Just a few days ago, my high school years ended. To celebrate this milestone, Project Graduation was held in my school.

Project Graduation began at ten o'clock in the evening, and lasted until four the next morning. It took place at a nearby college. There were sports, recreational activities, games, and of course, refreshments. We had access to the gymnasium, swimming pool, and resting lounges. In addition to games like soccer that required much physical involvement, there were also more laid back activities, such as deep-tissue massages. We were provided with refreshments throughout the night, which made a lot of us quite worried about having midnight snacks, literally. Nonetheless, the food was delicious. There were cookies, hotdogs, chocolates, pizza, coke, coffee, and more. Much to our surprise, there was also an ice cream truck parked outside! We all lined up like kids, anxious to get our hands on a rich, creamy dessert. Yum! Towards the morning, we gathered to watch a show, which ensured the event ended on a high note.

The origins of Project Graduation can be traced back a couple of decades. It was established to provide students a post-graduation celebration in a safe and enjoyable environment. The entire event was organized by the school and parents. I had a good time hanging out with my friends at the event, even though I was slightly saddened by the fact that we'd soon part. We all found ourselves promising to keep in touch. After all, we've built strong friendships over the years; ones that should overcome distances and lifestyle differences.

Sincerely,

Bingyin
