As we know, water plays an important role in our daily lives. There would be no life without water. Water is fundamental and essential to the existence of human beings and other living creatures.

Nowadays, the world is threatened by water shortages. The increasing population is one big factor. Human activity is polluting existing water resources. Often, economic development is a bigger priority than water protection.

The government should take measures to reduce water pollution. Scientists should try to find efficient ways to purify polluted water and sea water. As middle school students, we should make good use of every drop of water because every drop counts. However, there’s still a long way to go!
