The Shenzhen delegation finished first with 2,163.35 points at the 10th Guangdong Middle School Games, which concluded at Shenzhen No.2 Senior High School on July 28.

It was the first time for Shenzhen to win the group championship at the provincial sports event for middle school students, according to the delegation.

More than 3,600 athletes from 22 cities in the province attended this year's games. After 11 days of competition, 205 gold medals were taken.

The Guangzhou delegation gained more than 500 points, ranking second, while Zhongshan came third.

Several Shenzhen schools, including Shenzhen Polytechnic, Shenzhen Middle School, Shenzhen Experimental School, Shenzhen Senior High School, Xin'an Middle School, Longcheng Senior High School, Pinggang Middle School, Pingshan Millde School and Nanshan Youth Football Club won awards for "outstanding event venues."

The next games will be held in Zhanjiang City next summer.
