“What do you want to do when you grow up?” I am frequently asked this question by my peers.

    My answer is simple but may be unrealistic. I want to open a new kind of store known as a DIY gift store.

    I use the word “unrealistic” because I’m not exactly sure how I can accomplish this goal. But, there is no doubt that this is a growth industry. Many entrepreneurs are dabbing their toes into it.

    My goal is to create an innovative shop that gives customers the chance to create their own gifts. As Chinese people become more innovative, I could be tapping into the zeitgeist. Such a gift gives young people the chance to express themselves through what they buy.

    Owning such a shop would make me happy as it would enable me to play a small part in joyous moments of other people’s lives, from birthdays to other important occasions.

    Is my dream interesting and meaningful?

    Life is about having goals and pursuing them.
