An unusual party
    2012-08-22  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

凡珊珊

This summer holiday I attended an unusual party. I had a reunion with about 20 of my primary school classmates and we played some of the old games we played when we were kids.

Each of us was required to dress like a young child.

The first game was blind man's buff. First we blindfolded the monitor with a red scarf, then he had to turn around five times. Some girls squatted under the desk and some boys stood behind a few chairs. One boy climbed on a windowsill and a girl sat on a chair against the wall. We were all fairly well hidden.

According to the rules, none of us were allowed to move after the word "start". However, we could make all kinds of sounds to distract the blind man when he was about to approach someone. One minute passed and more minutes flew by, he finally caught a classmate. Through touching the classmate's body, face and hair, etc. and then he had to utter the name of the person he touched. The monitor tickled the person who could not control his laughter. The monitor could easily identify him through his laughter and the loser had to bark like a dog. At that moment everybody seemed to regain their inner child and many others started making animal noises.

The next part of the game was throwing a handkerchief. We all sat on the floor in a big circle, clapping our hands, and singing the song while throwing the handkerchief. It was as if we had never been apart.

Being able to roll back the years in such a way made it one of the best days of the summer.
