A Letter from the U.S. Li Bingyin is currently studying finance at the Stern School of Business at New York University. Dear readers, The new school year has officially begun and I have just moved into a new dorm. After unloading, unpacking and sorting my belongings, I finally have the chance to sit down and tell you about it. The first day was hectic and exciting. Besides moving in, I also had several things to do. In the morning, I visited the administrative center to receive my school ID card. The card, which has one’s name and photo printed on it, is essential to campus life. It permits access to places such as the library and school canteens. There was quite a line at the center, but I finished the whole procedure in 20 minutes. I then attended a fair for students where many departments and student councils set up booths to guide their services. Some handed out free pens, bags, and raffles tickets. A complimentary T-shirt also came with the ID card. After the fair, I grabbed a light lunch at the school cafeteria. I went to a few ice-breaker events in the afternoon as well. Later, I decided to take a walk around the campus and acquaint myself with the area because I knew I would be too busy to have a look around the next day. Although it was a stressful day, I met new people, attended many events, and began to settle in. I will keep you posted on the adventures I have at my new school. Sincerely, Bingyin |
