Learning to do housekeeping
    2012-09-05  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

东莞市东华初级中学初三(14)班 梁正 指导老师 蒋坛军

Since my mother had to go away for two weeks and my father was busy at work, I had to stay at home with my sister and run the household by ourselves.

I thought we were old enough to take good care of ourselves. But soon I realized I was wrong. First, the food I cooked had no taste.

Secondly, I couldn’t get up on time without my mother telling me off, even though I had set the alarm clock. I was often late for school.

Thirdly, our rooms were at sixes and sevens although we had tried our best to keep them tidy. Sometimes we had to turn the whole house inside out in order to find our clothes because we had put them in the wrong place.

After all this trouble, I started to realize how much my mother had sacrificed to raise us children.

I am determined to become a good housekeeper. On the one hand, I want to be independent. On the other hand, I want to take some of the burden off my mother.
