Joining the English Drama Club
    2012-09-05  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

深圳市新安中学高二 (5)班 林皓彤 指导老师 叶海洋 汤颖

Last semester I took part in the first meeting of the English Drama Club in our school.

I like drama very much. Say, a prince falls in love with a princess and they live happily ever after having had a long struggle against family opposition. It is so romantic! “I would love to join the drama club,” I told myself at the beginning of the semester. Standing on stage is an empowering feeling.

Then I decided to run for election as chairman of the club. When I stood in front of hundreds of students I felt so nervous that I could barely even speak. But I quickly calmed down and gave a campaign speech in English. I was greatly encouraged when I saw the teacher and students listen to my speech with smiling faces. In the end I won the election to become chairman. I was told by my teacher Miss Tang and several classmates that my performance had gone down well.

With the desire to improve myself, I will do the job with a sense of responsibility and enthusiasm. Being the chairman will be a major learning experience.
