Getting trendy in fall

THE time has come for fashionistas to start doing their autumn shopping. Now that we have to wear more layers, it can be a challenge to keep looking trendy.

Since she wore that famous dress on Oscar night, Angelina Jolie’s legs have been one of the hottest topics in this year’s fashion industry. But if you follow these fashion tips, you can look like a superstar yourself.

First, let us look at colors. Grey and blue are in this year. But if you want to stand out from the crowd, consider honey gold, pink, tangerine, ultramarine green, olympian blue, rose and bright chartreuse.

As for style, tuxedo pants are in this year. If you wear cigarette pants and a jacket nipped in at the waist, you will look trendy but businesslike.

Long skirts have been in fashion for about two years, but before you rush to buy one, there are some things you should consider. Skirts that reach all the way down to the ankles can affect mobility. Moreover, they don’t go well with just anything. Try matching them with a narrow-shouldered blazer or roll-neck sweater. If you do buy a long skirt, green and tangerine are the recommended colors.

Clothes with large floral prints are hot this year. These come in designs of just about any flower you can think of. Floral designs are everywhere.

If you think floral prints are not elegant enough, lace dresses are also likely to go down well. This season’s lace has a demure, sophisticated spin. If you don’t want to look too businesslike, try a lace dress in an eye-catching color.

At the casual end of the scale, try a sweater with geometrical patterns when you are shopping or eating out. Despite being fairly casual, these sweaters will help you turn heads on the high street.

Last but not least, don’t forget to wear jewelry. You don’t need to be ostentatious, black sequins, inky crystal and slate-colored beads are all in this year.
