Trendy headpieces for fall

WE’RE approaching the time when it will be necessary to wear a hat to keep warm, so why not take the opportunity to look great as well as stay warm.

Judging by the fall collection, headpieces are about to go huge in the fashion world.

Designers have accessorized their outfits with berets, caps, clothes, furry hats, fascinators, headbands, top hats, and many more.

Hats

It’s interesting how many women’s hats that are in this year come from headpieces traditionally worn by men, from tiny little fedoras, newsboy caps, jockey caps, cowboy hats and train conductor caps.

Fur caps look good when worn over sleek straight hair. Going for this look can show the world how elegant you are.

“Downton Abbey” has had a huge impact on the fashion world. With the sophisticated looks of the menswear-inspired suits that appear in the TV series, the English countryside cap goes great with light makeup.

Beanies are an age-old favorite with girls, and this year ballet-inspired beanies are big. These elegant caps look modern when paired with ball gowns and evening wear, a winning combination that is sure to make a big impression.

Countryside tweed caps styled with studded gloves and fringed skirts are also in this year, providing the perfect mixture of classic and modern. Styled over straight long hair, these caps give one a boyish look.

Headbands

Headbands are making a big comeback. You can find satin headbands adorned with eye-popping jewels like pearls and crystals. These sparkly bands are just one of many embellishments featured in the collections. With the ’60s look making a big comeback, vintage headbands in pastel colors are also certain to be a big hit, helping you look like a modern-day Audrey Hepburn.

Fascinators

Fascinators have also made a big comeback. Perhaps it’s because hats are trendy right now or maybe it’s because they are a fresh take on head decor.

Whether going with fur, jewels, crystals or silk, fascinators may be your best choice for more formal events such as weddings, cocktail parties or office gatherings.

They look best when hair is polished and put together. They also go well with a pony tail.

Men’s hats

Men have fewer choices than women when it comes to headpieces.

However, a wide-brim hat, also known as an Amish hat, is a nice choice for trendy men.

Men can wear the hats with tailored suits and coats in the style of a 1930s gangster. If this is too unusual, just try a velvet jacket in bold or deep colors, gray suits and other casual wear. You will look great.

For men, baseball caps may never go out of style, but little changes can be made to help you stand out. This autumn, floral prints in dark colors or a little fur on the caps will be good choices.
