The International School of Nanshan Shenzhen (ISNS) will host the 2012 ACAMIS (Association of China and Mongolia International Schools) Gold Division Volleyball Tournament from November 8 to 10, according to Michael Stafford, athletics and activities director of the school.

The event will be held at Shenzhen Polytechnic and will see six international schools from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong battle it out for the 2012 Gold Division Volleyball crown.

Over 140 boys and girls will be representing the schools from Shenzhen, Beijing, Dalian, Hangzhou, Macao and Hong Kong. Over the course of three days, the boy and girl teams will compete in a round robin tournament to establish seeding and then in play-off games to determine the 2012 champions.

It will be a historic event for ISNS, as it celebrates its first full year with ACAMIS by hosting the first competition of 2012. While the school will reward the winning teams, much emphasis will be placed on sportsmanship, team spirit and fair play. Therefore, the boy and girl teams will also be vying for the coveted “Sportsmanship” trophy as well, Stafford said.
