    Fringe Parade

    Wu Xi, a Shenzhen theater director, is the general director of this year’s parade. Besides popular parade teams from other parts of the world, participants in the parade are also drawn from public organizations, children’s art troupes, folk artists and students from Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Music, drama, dance, performance art and installation art are all involved.

    Time: 3 p.m.-6 p.m., Nov. 24

    Candyman

    German street performer John Johnman will bring his famous “CANDYman” to Shenzhen audiences. As the champion of “Living Statues” at the 2010 World Statues Festival, Johnman is famous for his funny performances and interaction with audiences.

    Time: 2:40-3 p.m., Nov. 25, at Haide Square,

    4-4: 30 p.m., Nov. 25, on Wenxin Park

    Experimental music show

    Brazilian artist Cristiano Rosa will bring his latest works to this year’s festival. Rosa has been making experimental music since 1989. At his Shenzhen performance, he will use electronic instruments made of a combination of assorted electronic waste. These devices when played together generate electrical signals that reach a wide range of frequencies from audible to ultrasonic.
