Angels of dream
    2012-11-28  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    广东宏远外国语学校 凡珊珊

I recently had the pleasure of watching popular TV program, Chinese Dream. The contestants and their performances were very impressive, especially "The Dance of Hand in Four Seasons."

The 24 dancers first presented a marvelous dance to the audience using their arms and hands, and then they chanted words of love for life and the motherland, though thei voices were a bit vague.

What makes it even more astonishing is that the dancers were hearing impaired students from Zhongzhou Special Education University in Henan Province. It took them about eight months of non-stop practice to master the dance. Most of them could barely speak like normal people in their daily lives. When the hosts and audience learned this, they stood up and gave a spontaneous ovation.

When they were asked about their dream, to my surprise, they said it was to make enough money to help one of their classmates whose condition was much worse than their own. In the long term, their dream was to set up a fund to help more children with hearing problems.

They certainly lit up my life for an evening and I sincerely hope their lives improve and their dreams come true.
