Dear readers, It’s already December and I can hardly believe the semester is almost over. Classes end in less than a month and it’s already time to register for classes in the spring. Registering is a tedious but necessary process. First, I have to identify which courses I want to take, as some courses are only offered in the fall. Next I need to make sure the class schedules do not clash. After finalizing classes, I add them into what is called a “shopping cart,” a feature of the course registration system. On registration day, I enrolled in the courses I wanted to take with just a few clicks. It is important to be proactive and register early because each class has an enrollment quota. Many students are assigned to register at the same time, thus enrollment is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. It reminds one of the old saying, “The early bird catches the worm.” This year I was one of the lucky people who got ahead in the scramble and managed to enroll in all the courses I wanted. Now I am excited ahead of the winter break and next semester. Sincerely, Bingyin |
