Driving will never go out of fashion
    2012-12-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Driving a car can have as many disadvantages as advantages. Cars burn fossil fuel into harmful gases such as CO2, NO2 and NO. Therefore, many people think that the number of cars will decrease on roads around the world. However, considering the convenience and autonomy involved in having a car, I doubt that driving will ever go out of style.

Firstly, there are few realistic alternatives to driving. In terms of the terrain they can travel on, cars are more versatile than just about any other vehicle. Also, a lot of people are very proud of their cars and see the vehicles as an extension of themselves.

Furthermore, automotive companies are constantly improving their products, making cars safer and more environmentally friendly. For example, the use of electric and hybrid cars is increasing. What’s more, scientists are looking for ways of using hydrogen to power cars. These improvements mean that automotive companies will still be competitive in the market.

In summary, I think cars will survive. There’s a reason why people tolerate sitting in long traffic jams, it’s better than any of the alternatives.
