Dear readers, Classes have officially come to an end! Now all that’s left between us and the winter break are final exams, also known as finals. Doing finals can be very stressful for many students. As a result, the school has been reaching out and providing various forms of support. To help relieve students’ stress, plenty of fun programs and events have been planned. One of the most exciting programs thus far was Flurry. Flurry was an ice-skating event organized by the school and open to all students free of cost. Its purpose was to serve as a break from finals studying. Double-decker buses were provided as transportation to the rink, and the event lasted four hours. Throughout the event, the rink was full of energy and fun, to say the least. It served as a much-needed diversion from studying, and helped many deal with the stress of final exams and essays. In addition to Flurry, the school has offered tutoring, one-on-one writing appointments, massages, and free coffee/food. Many of these services are available year-round, but the school has put in an effort to promote and provide additional support for students. Professors and teaching assistants have similarly implemented extended hours for students. Since this is a busy, stressful time for a lot of us, we are glad to have these resources available. On the other hand, of course, who isn’t looking forward to the long and relaxing winter break that’ll be here in no time at all? I certainly am excited for the break. How about you? Sincerely, Bingyin |
