I chose international business as my major because I want to learn more about business before I one day start my own business. Time waits for no man. In order to achieve my goal, I need to make a detailed plan. In the next two years, I want to improve in three aspects: knowledge, experience and social skills.

    To gain more knowledge, I hope to pass the IELTS exam in a year. The test will force me to acquire comprehensive English skills. I need to learn more professional knowledge about business next semester, I have to prepare for class from now on. Besides, I want to learn a third language, I think Japanese will be a good choice.

    I need to gain more work experience to stay competitve in such a struggling economy. If there is no such experience on my resume, it will be hard for me to surpass other jobseekers. Although I work for an English institution, my experience is still a weak part of my resume. I will try more jobs, if possible, to learn more and widen my vision.

    Lastly, knowing how to fit into society is of great importance. Business is not an isolated industry. It emphasizes team work, so I need social skills. I have to learn how to coopperate with others effectively and how to talk to people properly. It’s quite difficult for me, because I’m not a sociable person. To build a wide and active network, I need to overcome my shyness.

    To reach my goals I need to take action. Life is short, all I want is to live a rich life and hope I will achieve it soon.
