After the mid-term exam my school held a campus chorus competition. Each class prepared for it in earnest. To my great joy, our class won first prize. As the class monitor and one of the leading singers, I am proud of what we have done. The success is largely down to good teamwork. To compete with other classes, four leading singers and other singers responsible for different music parts were chosen strictly. We practiced the song not only in music class but also after school. Even the “dissident” of my class agreed to cooperate with us. To win the competition, singing skill is not enough for us — stage-setting and performance methods are also crucial. To help my class, I searched stage designs online and found various styles. Then, a wonderful idea appeared in my mind. I drew it on paper and showed it to my classmates and my teacher. All of them liked the design. Additionally, we came to a consensus about the way to present the song. We rehearsed it again and again, every afternoon after school, despite the fatigue we felt. What impressed me most was that no one showed an intention to quit. I also went to buy two boxes of light sticks with another two girls, at the expense of our lunch break. What has moved us most was that our costumes were tailored by a classmate’s mother, who managed to finish sewing just before the competition. When we stepped onto the stage we felt a little nervous, but when we saw our teacher smiling at us in front of the stage, we felt relieved and regained our confidence. At last, we won! As one of the participants and the leader of the team, I benefited a lot from this activity. Our teamwork made the success possible. |
