December 13 was an exciting day for my class. My school held a chorus competition themed “Singing for the motherland.” It was a joyful afternoon. All the Senior 1 and 2 classes, including my class — Senior 2 Class 16, had made full preparation for the competition. Every class spared no effort to present the best show on stage. One class even performed martial arts and dancing while singing. The performance from Senior 2 Class 2 also left a deep impression on me. The singers presented a powerful song, and their class teacher, Mr. Hao, joined them. My classmates and I couldn’t wait to step on stage. To the sound of erhu and drums, our show began. When the two lead singers started the chorus, I could hear the loud applause from the audience, which gave us strength and confidence. Every one of us tried our best to sing aloud and present the lyrics with emotion. As the art class of our grade, we made full use of our musical talent. Some of my classmates accompanied us with musical instruments, such as guitar, flute, drum, piano, and erhu. Both the audience and judges were impressed by our performance. We won first prize as we all expected. We spent lots of time and energy preparing for the competion, and the result rewarded all our efforts. I believe the experience will last in our memory. |
