Shenzhen Middle School awards campus figures of 2012
    2013-03-06  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Shenzhen Middle School held an award ceremony for 16 individuals and groups who were granted the title of campus figures of 2012 on Thursday.

The candidates for the award were chosen through self-recommendations or recommendations by others. The candidates must have shown exemplary spirit, deep love for the school and support for its development. They also should make contributions to the school and have motivated and inspired other schoolmates.

Several teachers were awarded for their great contributions, such as the head teacher Li Jianxin, music teacher Liu Mei who led the school’s chorus overseas, and Niu Zhihong who returned to the teaching post after retirement.

One group who offers volunteer guidance on entrepreneurship for students and another group who fervently pursues public welfare were also awarded.

Wang Zhanbao, principal of the school, said the event was aimed at commending teachers and students. “We have often seen that there are ordinary people who are not engaged in grand activities with great achievements. But they are nurturing their desire to change the world with their enthusiasm, courage and wisdom. They act in a persistent way and are delightful in pursuing their dreams. The yearly figures whom we are awarding are such people, real and accessible in our daily life,” said Wang. (Zhao Jie)
