Old songs worth listening too
    2013-03-13  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Many people only listen to the latest songs and they think old songs are outdated.

One day, I was bored watching TV ads and was about to leave, suddenly a familiar melody attracted my attention.

The song is called “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and was composed in the 1970s. The song expresses the kind of love that I long for. The lyrics are simple but beautiful, like “No matter where you are / no matter how far / just call out my name / I’ll be there in a hurry / you don’t have to worry.” The melody and rhythms veer from deep to light. They are sometimes soothing and sometimes fast. Furthermore, the singer, Diana Ross’s voice is utterly magnetic. Every time I listen to it, I’m deeply moved.

Some songs stand the test of time because they convey things that resonate. That is why genuine classics are covered time and again. Music lovers should never abandon them.
