    Shenzhen Polytechnic plans to enroll 535 students this year through its independent enrollment program, and the deadline for online applications is April 5, the polytechnic said on Monday.

    The plan is to enrol 425 high school graduates and 110 vocational school graduates. All graduates holding a Guangdong hukou are eligible.

    Students can apply for majors including tourism management, administrative management, manufacturing design, computer science, telecommunication information engineering, printing technology, architecture design, industrial design, jewelry design and media production.

    Students applying for art majors must gain at least 175 points at the Guangdong Province college entrance examination for art and music.

    Those who have won science awards and students specializing in sports can get additional points when applying for the program.

    If a student agrees to accept the admission from the polytechnic through the independent enrollment program, he or she will not be entitled to withdraw and choose other colleges or universities. And a freshman will not be permitted to change major after entering the polytechnic.

    The writing test will be held at the polytechnic on April 20, while interviews will take place on April 27 and 28.
