Li Bingyin is currently studying finance at the Stern School of Business at New York University. Dear readers, Spring break is finally here! The university is closed for a week, and many are off to states like Florida for their vacation. However, it’s not only the time for our spring break, but also the time to submit any transfer applications. To try and put it simply, transfer applications allow “non-first-time” students who have been enrolled in college to switch and attend another college instead. Students such as those who feel that their current university environment does not suit them may choose to apply to another university with such a transfer application. These are considered external transfers. Internal transfers are the same concept, but refer to transferring within schools of the same university. For example, transferring from the art school to the engineering school of the same university is an internal transfer. Transfer applications for the fall semester are typically due in March or April, but this varies. Those for the spring are due sometime around November. If a student is looking to transfer to another college, he or she must be sure to check each university’s website for specific requirements and deadlines. Sincerely, Bingyin |
